Is it a dupe? Estee Lauder vs Revlon

Image
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation vs Revlon Colorstay Hey beauties! As you may have noticed from previous posts I am always excited to find a decent dupe. I love Estee Lauder products but they can be pricey, although of course totally worth it! But I had seen this dupe a few times and I already had a small amount of the Estee Lauder foundation at home so picked up a sample of the Revlon Colorstay and its always best to test it out! Although I'd usually review something over a week so bare with me.... This foundation retails at £31.00 and you can find it here >>>  www.esteelauder.co.uk   and comes in over twenty shades, I chose the shade 1C1 Cool Bone, this foundation promises... Long-wearing makeup with 15-hour staying power. Looks flawless and natural. Lasts through heat, humidity, non-stop activity.  Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.  For a look that lasts all day, without touchups. BENE

My Skin Care Routine - 30's plus skincare & makeup

Image
My Skin Care Routine I have been meaning/wanting to do this post for a while now and been a big fan of you tube and pretty much all other social media outlets to do with beauty and skin care,  I have noticed that some of the more popular blogs and vlogs are geared towards younger peeps. In my head I'm about the same age but unfortunately my birth certificate is a liar and says differently... I have to say I've always been pretty lucky with my skin, most of my life nothing too horrendous has broken out, even the horrid teenage years weren't entirely traumatic. I think that might be more to do with genes though than anything else and don't feel too sorry for me I have a terrible personality :) I didn't discover make up and its wonder till around my late twenties so perhaps that helped but other than that I done nothing with my skin, literally nothing, washed it with soap and water that was it. It was around this time that my boyfriend at the times mum told me

Guest Review - Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (Brown)

Image
Review Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (Brown) This was recommended to me to try, as I have had issues with other mascaras I had been using. I was not disappointed with this! I used to dread when I would use my previous mascara which would clump, smudge and irritate my eyes. This Lash Sensational Mascara from Maybelline does none of those bad things. I now look forward to using it each morning, as the specially designed brush practically combs through my lashes and coats them individually looking lovely. It is a super mascara to use, layers well and lasts the whole day - perfect for my eyes! Hair Colour: Fair/Blonde Skin Type: Fair/Dry Eye Colour: Blue Pros: Defines and volumises lashes without clumping. Curved brush works well and leaves a lasting effect. Worry-free wear (not prone to flaking or smudging). Cons: None. Available at Boots now as below for £7.99 http://www.boots.com/en/Maybelline-Lash-Sensational-Mascara-Brown_1792353/ A

Make Up Trends Autumn 2016

Make Up Trends Fall/Autumn 2016 Hello beauties! Sadly to report due to the fact I live in the UK, Scotland in particular I have had to unfortunately surrender to reality: the tiny bit of summer that we did get is now well and truly over, leaving little but our fake tan with it. However, I like to take a positive from every situation so what better time than to refresh our make up bags and try out some new looks for the colder, crisper days that are just around the corner. They're is something for everyone whether you love to experiment eyeshadow is back as well as bold brows staying put be as crazy as you like or as nude as you like just don't be shy. Eyeliner never goes out of style does it? The blacker the better for me but everyone is different there are some beautiful dark greens and blues that set off any smokey eye from day to night. Does flashy eye make up give you the fear? Not a problem, another huge trend this season is still the natural look; those nak

One Brand Series - Essence

Image
Essence Make Up Review I heard about essence cosmetics through another addiction of mine Pinterest. I had seen that the brand was supposed to have a lot of dupes to other products and the feedback was positive, so of course, I just had to try it out, all for the purposes of my blog ;-) I had a look online and discovered that the nearest store that stocked Essence was called Wilko and wasn't too far from me. I went in and bought a couple of basic items initially and then ordered a few more things online a few weeks ago. I'll list everything I've purchased and my reviews. I am obsessed with lip liners and have them in all colours these were only £1.00 each so I managed to control myself and only bought three ha. This is called G irl Next Door and is described a long lasting lip liner its also an automatic liner. It's a nice nude colour quite subtle, I wore it to work a few times and its quite creamy, I'd say I had to top it up maybe twice throughout t

Skin Care Organisation

Image
Making sure our skin care products are in date and really working is super important, not much point in spending all our hard earned pennies on this fabulous make up if the base isn't right. Here are my tips for giving your skin products a once over. Firstly, I'd get all of your daily skin care products out and line them up so you can have a good look. Everything, samples your using the last of, cleanser and night products too. The main things your looking for are; Has anything separated or changed colour/consistency? Has anything expired? Are any of them empty (if not in a clear bottle etc)? Obviously you need to throw any of these products away now if you answered yes! You should have left four main products, or at least the products you want to use daily for your routine. Moisturiser, cleanser, exfoliator and or sunscreen or whatever your choices are. Also of course you should get rid of anything that you feel isn't working or you don't like. If you

Best Contouring/Highlighting Products High Street/Chemist

Image
Whether you like a natural line or you go for the 'I have my own TV show' contour, it has been a big craze pretty much since Mrs K West showed her interesting (some might say) contouring regime. Now, I myself prefer less is more look but I've had a look at the best of the best products in my humble opinion. There are a LOT of contouring products out there so I've narrowed down high end and cheaper alternatives. Now, first step to getting your Kardashian on is to note that everyone has to contour to their individual face shape, details below my beauties.   Contouring may seem a little daunting, but its really easy as long as you get the right products for your skin tone and texture, you can achieve the p erfect contour. I like both as I have normal skin, I will usu ally use a cream and po w der together for extra shin e!     Base You can contour on top of your foundation if preferred and also use concealer and darker shade of contour onto skin and bl
