Is it a dupe? Estee Lauder vs Revlon

Image
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation vs Revlon Colorstay Hey beauties! As you may have noticed from previous posts I am always excited to find a decent dupe. I love Estee Lauder products but they can be pricey, although of course totally worth it! But I had seen this dupe a few times and I already had a small amount of the Estee Lauder foundation at home so picked up a sample of the Revlon Colorstay and its always best to test it out! Although I'd usually review something over a week so bare with me.... This foundation retails at £31.00 and you can find it here >>>  www.esteelauder.co.uk   and comes in over twenty shades, I chose the shade 1C1 Cool Bone, this foundation promises... Long-wearing makeup with 15-hour staying power. Looks flawless and natural. Lasts through heat, humidity, non-stop activity.  Won’t change color, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.  For a look that lasts all day, without to...

My Skin Care Routine - 30's plus skincare & makeup

Image
My Skin Care Routine I have been meaning/wanting to do this post for a while now and been a big fan of you tube and pretty much all other social media outlets to do with beauty and skin care,  I have noticed that some of the more popular blogs and vlogs are geared towards younger peeps. In my head I'm about the same age but unfortunately my birth certificate is a liar and says differently... I have to say I've always been pretty lucky with my skin, most of my life nothing too horrendous has broken out, even the horrid teenage years weren't entirely traumatic. I think that might be more to do with genes though than anything else and don't feel too sorry for me I have a terrible personality :) I didn't discover make up and its wonder till around my late twenties so perhaps that helped but other than that I done nothing with my skin, literally nothing, washed it with soap and water that was it. It was around this time that my boyfriend at the times mum told me...

Girls Night Out beauty tips

Seen as its Friday, and I happen to be having a girls night out tonight I thought I'd do a post about getting glammed up! Before you do anything moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Pay special attention to around your mouth and eye area. I like to give myself a mini massage as this gets the blood flowing and stimulates a natural glow :) Let this soak into your skin for at least 5 - 10 minutes... Make sure your brows are looking perfect, I usually tweeze after a shower as the pores are open and its less painful, fill in any gaps with your favourite brow pencil/shader. Apply a medium shade of colour from lashline to crease and use a darker shade in the crease to create some drama and take this up toward the brow bone, blending all the time! This should accentuate your eyes and make the colour pop. (Use whatever colours you desire) Eyeliner is a girls best friend, well, mine anyway. Lining your eyes is a great touch and you can go crazy with colours and sparkles. You can also...

Small Haul and Review!

Image
So as promised a little catch up of some of the things I bought the other day on my shopping spree! I picked up some nail polishes and a gorgeous scarf! I also got a free! Soap and Glory mascara with Elle Magazine, happy days :) 1. Models Own Nail Polish in NP031 Feeling Blue £5.00 @ www.boots.com I'm not sure that my pictures do this justice but this colour is so pretty! Its really vibrant and after only applying one coat it stayed put for 3 days and hardly chipped at all, I think this is pretty good with no top coat. Its a little bit more than I would usually pay but the colour was really unsual and I do like to try new brands. Would buy again! 2. Leopard/Heart Print Scarf from Primark @£4.00 As soon as I spotted this scarf I had to have it! I'm a big fan of scarfs and have far too many, but when they are a steal like this then I feel its allowed ;) Primark is a good place for picking up many items that are designer copies and this reminded me a little of the Lou...

Dior Garden Party

Image
So I was in Boots today (always dangerous lol) picking up some things and I saw THE most beautiful make up at the DIOR counter. This in itself is not unsual but the main event was the beautiful collection (GARDEN PARTY) of pastel colours this includes a beautiful palette which is limited edition, see below;  PIC 1 - Granville Garden PIC 2 - Milly Garden The palette includes 3 eyeshadows and 2 lip glosses. The case is pale pink with delicate and two gorgeous silver-plated rosebud clasps. The palette retail at £55.00 ($87.00) DIOR are high end cosmetics hence the big pricetag but if your looking for a treat then you do get what you pay for, of course remember Valentines Day is just around the corner too!  The popular 5 shade Dior palette (GARDEN ROSES) and (GARDEN PASTELS) also has some gorgeous shades, with lovely greens, violets and pinks. Price is £41.00 ($64.00). Finally are these limited edition, scented(!) nail p...

Beauty Tip 6!

Lips! One of the most important things not just for make up but day to day, winter to summer we have to look after our lips. Always have a lip balm/conditioner to hand especially when it gets colder and lips can get dry and chapped (ouch). Before applying any lip colour you should apply lip balm to give lips some moisture, this will also help colour go on smoothly and stay on. The best way to find out what colours suit you is to discover if you have warm or cool skin tones. How can you tell? Well if you go through your make up bag and find two shades of make up (any make up will do blush, lipstick etc) find one that is slightly rusty/orangey in colouring then find another that has pinky/lavender tones. Rub one of each of the colours on both your cheeks and then compare both, one should look 'better' than the other..whichever works best will show your skin tone. Orangey/Rusty Colour = WARM TONES Pinky/Lavender Colour = COOL TONES This list below gives you an idea of lips...

Review - Avon 3 in 1 Lip Gloss/Lip Stick

Image
Review Avon 3 in 1 So like many girls I really like Avon, some of the products aren't the best but some are really staple items for anyones make up bag. This is really one of them! I choose the colour passion plum which is quite a dark colour for me normally as I'm pretty pale! It comes in nice packaging and I paid £5.00 pounds for it (around $7 dollars I believe). This was on special offer as you find most things will be at some point in Avon. This is really a brilliant product, not only because of the fact you have the lipstick and lipgloss in one you can also use either or and dont have to use the same one etc. The lipstick goes on soooo smoothly and the colour is fantastic really really nice and feels lovely on. The wand for the lipstick is really nice too and helps with putting it on. The gloss is lovely and shimmery too and really gives the lipstick a kick! I got so many compliments while wearing this and everyone wanted to know what it was. I think for the money ...

Beauty Tip 3! (teens make up tip)

Teens Make Up This a teen tip! Try to keep colours light i.e. if you have bright eye make up on, try to use a sheer lipstick or just a clear gloss to help even things out (this will also help detract if you have braces on your teeth). Its also a good idea to try not to use too much harsh make up, remember your skin is young we want to maintain that :D
