Best Make Up For Your 20's

By the time you’re in your 20s, you’ve may have left college, been working since school, have kids and a few ex's. However when it comes to beauty and looking after your skin there may be some things you haven't picked up along the way. With social media these days, beauty hacks and the never ending selfies make up and beauty is bigger than ever. If you haven't quite mastered the smoky eye or you think highlighting is done with a brightly coloured pen you've come to the right place. When it comes to beauty, however, there are some things you may or may not have picked up along the way. Make up counters can be intimidating not only that but going into the larger Boots and Superdrug is my idea of heaven but can be hell if you're not quite a make up addict. Whether your a no make up gal, like the natural look or are a fully fledged make up geek here are some tips every 20 something should know.

Don't Be Too Under-Cover

Invest in a good concealer that conceals and treats. You can get some good ones that help with blemishes. Gently put a small amount of concealer on blemishes then blend it out until your happy with the coverage. Finish with a dust of translucent powder and your good to go. There are also some great colour correctors around so experiment until you find the right products for you.

Build a Solid Foundation

I know some women like to hide their freckles or if they have problem areas they can pile on the foundation. This doesn't always look better. You're as fresh faced as you'll ever be so try and embrace it. You can get great foundations that are buildable, a tinted moisturiser is great as well or one of the many BB or CC creams out there.

Lighten Up

Not everyone likes bright colours and will avoid them at all cost. I'm more of a bold lips neutral eyes kinda gal but I do like to play around with eye colour. I'd say if your doing a smoky or dark eye do a nude lip etc. For a sophisticated day look trip a glossy lip to let your natural lip colour show through and a shimmer bronzer/blusher keep it simple. Wear liner and mascara on your upper lids. If your tired looking use a white/nude eyeliner to open eyes up and make them look brighter. When you have young skin and you look after it you can often luckily get that dewy look naturally and you don't need a lot of make up.

COOL IT

It's always great to experiment with hair. However all the curling, straightening and blow-drying isn't great for your hair and can damage it and make it dry. Ceramic styling tools are gentler on hair.  Always use a protectant spray and try to have a break now and again.
