Image
So as you may or may not know Vo5 has been around for a long time, their hot oil was always a fave of mine! They have recently had a makeover and I am loving the results. First of the packaging is pink so right there is a winner ;) they have so many different products too from shampoo to styling sprays to heat protection.  Making keeping your hair looking fab easy peasy. The line is really well priced too which is a big bonus and often they are on specials like 3 for 2 ;-). I purchased hair spray shampoo and conditioner and heat protect spray. I have a natural curl in my hair which can cause frizziness so I got the smoothly does it shampoo and conditioner this is fab smells amazing and my hair looks so smooth and shiny once I've blown it dry. I always got the strong hold hairspray which is weather resistant great for this time of year. It doesn't leave my hair sticky and can be brushed out easily. Heat protection is a must for me as I use straighteners occasionally. This has a

Girls Night Out beauty tips

Seen as its Friday, and I happen to be having a girls night out tonight I thought I'd do a post about getting glammed up! Before you do anything moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! Pay special attention to around your mouth and eye area. I like to give myself a mini massage as this gets the blood flowing and stimulates a natural glow :) Let this soak into your skin for at least 5 - 10 minutes... Make sure your brows are looking perfect, I usually tweeze after a shower as the pores are open and its less painful, fill in any gaps with your favourite brow pencil/shader. Apply a medium shade of colour from lashline to crease and use a darker shade in the crease to create some drama and take this up toward the brow bone, blending all the time! This should accentuate your eyes and make the colour pop. (Use whatever colours you desire) Eyeliner is a girls best friend, well, mine anyway. Lining your eyes is a great touch and you can go crazy with colours and sparkles. You can also

Job Interview Make Up Tips....

Image
So at the moment a lot of us are job hunting, pounding the pavements looking for our next brilliant career move, or just some cash! First impressions last so as well as looking your best with your outfit make up is just as , if not, more, important! You want to convey your attention to detail and neatness, look smart and these are all key to your appearance. I always feel more confident when I look my best and this will come across to your interview panel. I like to keep it simple. Wash and dry your hair the night before, or the morning of the interview, depending on your routine and ensuring your not late! If you have long hair, I would perhaps tie it up put it in a nice sleek bun etc. that always looks good, or wear it down nice and styled. Exfoliate your skin the night before and put on lip balm to ensure your lips are nice and soft for the interview day. I really like the benefit big beautiful eyes palette and the too faced romantic palette. Give yourself plent

Clean & Clear Facial Wash

Image
So I decided I wanted to get a new face wash and after looking at some different products and reviews I went for the clean and clear facial morning energy wash. The packaging is bright orange so that caught my attention right away! It also has a pump lid which I really like as you can use a little and it goes a long way. The smell is amazing, it really wakes me up in the morning its so fresh and feels great on your skin. I do use this at night as well, I've been using it for three weeks now and I would really recommend it. I feel like it leaves a nice glow to my skin as well. It's nice and gentle and contains vitamin c and ginseng.     150ml cost me £3.00 which is great for the amount and brand :)

Soap and Glory Pulp Friction Body Scrub

Image
So I do love the soap and glory brand, the packaging is so girly and retro and any of the products I've previously used have been fab. I was looking for a really good, gritty body scrub, particularly to use with fake tan. This is so gorgeous! The smell is amazing and it really leaves your skin feeling soft and silky. Its really gritty so exfoliates so well and of course its pretty to look at ;) Ingredients include peppermint oil, lemonade tree liquid, vitamins and orange waterjuice. This was on offer (3 for 2) at Boots.com but I'm not sure if that deal is still going. It does cost £8.00 per 250ml which I know is a little pricey but you really do get what you pay for with the great brand and I only use a small amount and it goes a long way!

The Lazy Girls Guide to Make Up....

Image
So not all of us wake up looking like perfection, or actually, are too busy, or as above... lazy. Here are some fuss free tips for low maintenance, high style ladies. Dry Shampoo's can be your best friend at 6.30am with an important meeting. A quick spritz and your good to go. There are also so many great brands out there that not only will your hair look great but it'll smell amazing too. One of my favourite brands is Batiste. (rrp £2.99) If you don't have time for full make up, just add some bronzer (where the sun would naturally hit your face i.e. forehead, nose, chin etc. ) a quick swipe of lip gloss and mascara and you're good to go. For a less harsh look, especially for day time, try a nude eyeliner ( I love Rimmel's Scandaleyes Eyeliner) or white, this can really open up your eyes and make them look brighter. Also, for a change swap black for a plum colour. For tired eyes try some eye drops, there are many varieties around that add a great spa

Gettin The Skin(ny) on my routine

Image
I don't think I'm alone in this beautiful world by admitting I'm a product junkie. I decided to whittle my skin routine with my favourite products I like to use morning, evening and weekly. I have to admit I haven't always been this obsessed I don't really know what came over me. Probably all the magazines, you tube vlog's and general skin envy I developed looking at my friends flawless finish. I have to add, I have the most boring, non sensitive skin, which I know I'm lucky to have. I rarely get breakouts, occasionally my skin is a little dehydrated, but I do think its important to look after your skin no matter how blessed (or not) you are. I used to just use face wipes to clean my skin and take off my make up - then boom the addiction to cleansers began.. I have three which I use daily/weekly. I am not totally against cleansing wipes. They are handy if your just out the gym or heading out after work. I recently tried the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Rapid

Moisturising Tips

Anyone who suffers from dry skin will know the importance of keeping your skin moisturised. But really moisturising should be a massive part of ones beauty routine. I remember my grandmother always telling me to moisturise day and night and me thinking what for? I've got much more exciting things to do that than! Well, they where right and I'd say since I was about 17 I have religiously followed this routine. Not just my face but my body too. A lot of my friends only seem to moisturise their body after a shower etc. I do this every night before bed and every morning before I get dressed. It doesn't take long plus you get to lather yourself with gorgeousness, who wouldn't??! After bathing let your skin dry a little before applying moisturiser or oil. For best effect you should pat your skin dry with a towel. Ensure your skin is completely dry before dressing, especially if using oils as these can stain. Hot water and regular soap can rob the skin of its natural moi

Teen Tips! Get Lippy....

Image
As spring has sprung... well kind of. All the gorgeous shades are in season. Pastels and bright colours are must haves, so even if your weather isn't that sunny your make up and beauty can be :) When I was a teenager (from what I remember haha) I wasn't a huge fan of lipstick. I preferred just some lip gloss and at a stretch lip liner. Here are some tips for gorgeous glossy lips... Find your favourite shade, dont be scared to try something new! I like to add a little concealer to lips before applying lip colour, helps it stay put! Apply lip gloss to your bottom lip only (the middle part) this stops it being applied to thickly. Rub your lips together gently. If you do like lipstick try using a neutral colour underneath, or if you have bright lipstick a clear gloss looks fab or simply put some lip balm over it for a glossy non sticky finish. If you go overboard, just grab some tissue and blot it out. Here are some of my favourite lip products recommended for teens :

Confessions of a make up addict....

Cleaning your make up brushes like a pro....

Image
Cleaning your make-up brushes is a rather boring task but its a must for us make up addicts! Cleaning regularly keeps dirt and bacteria gone which hopefully means no break outs for our lovely skin! I try to clean mine every week. You can use an instant brush cleaner for a quick cleans or to give them a thorough cleanse, wash them with shampoo and leave overnight to dry (my personal fave). Try not to get any water on the handle of the brush or the part that holds the brush fibres to the handle as this can damage the brush fibres and they can fall apart. There are a few good brush cleaners out there and you only need a little for each brush. You simply pour some cleaner into a dish and dip each brush gently into the product.   Alternatively you can put some mild shampoo or washing up liquid into the palm of your hand, swirl your brush into it then rinse clean with water. You can also use a little conditioner to make them super soft.       MAC BRUSH CLEANER

How to apply bold lipstick

Image
This might seem like an easy task but I still have trouble. This applies with red mainly to be but any strong lip colour so here are some tips to help! Make sure you have your chosen lipstick, a matching lip liner (or close shade) some tissue and a lip gloss if required. Your lips should be clean and dry, I usually put balm on about 10 minutes before then let it dry. You can use a cleansing wipe or cotton wool with some make up remover on if needed. I usually do my lips last but its whatever your preference is. I dab a little pressed powder on the lips to help the colour stay in place. Line your lips with your chosen colour. Don't go outside the natural lip line if possible. After lining around your lips fill them in completely with the liner. This is a good base for your lipstick to stay put. This also helps if the lipstick wears off as you will still have a base until you can touch up your lips. Now apply your lipstick. I like to use a lip brush but sometimes if you h
