What is K Beauty?

First there were cute bunny lip balms as well as BB and CC creams to sleeping masks, K-Beauty has arrived and doesn't look like it's leaving anytime soon! But what is K-Beauty? The first thing you should know about the South Korean approach to skincare is that it requires a level of commitment (and cash) that many of us Westerners aren’t traditionally used to. The focus is on daily preventative care (think anti-wrinkle creams and intense hydration), as opposed to expensive corrective treatments down the line. For many Koreans, skincare is a part of their culture and something they are taught to care about from a very young age. While it may seem madness to spend up to 20 minutes a day applying skincare these routines makes the fresh faces glowy finish we're all after a bit more attainable. Keeping an open mind and trying this routine in a few weeks you'll be looking forward to sheet masking, exfoliating and hitting you're favourite website for all your skincare  nee

Niacinamide Benefits

Image
In topical form, it packs a powerful anti-ageing punch. Niacinamide is one of just a handful of ingredients (literally you can count them on your hands) that have actually been proven  through extensive research to work. What exactly is Niacinamide and what benefits can it provide for your skin? Read on to find out.  Niacinamide is a water-soluble component of the Vitamin B Complex Group. It is also referred to as Vitamin B3 or Nicotinamide. When used topically, it works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly improve enlarged pores, skin tone, fine lines, wrinkles and dullness.  Niacinamide  has the ability to improve the skin’s barrier and reduce the impact of environmental damage.  It also plays a role in helping skin to repair signs of past damage.  Our skin barrier is the first line of defense against environmental aggressors. (UV, pollution and irritants)  But…  here’s a shocker … it weakens as we age.  As if we need something else that weakens as we age, right?

Best & Worst Concealers (in my opinion)

Image
I am slightly obsessed with concealer. I, like many, am forever on the hunt for the best one, the one that will magically make my under eyes look at least 10 years better. This is a list of my best and worst. I have fair skin with pink undertones and I have some fine lines around my eye area.  ELF 16hr Camo Concealer £5.99 This concealer promises full-coverage, 16-hour wear, featuring a large doe foot applicator to conceal, correct, contour and highlight for flawless skin. Says it is highly pigmented and dries matte. I bought the shade fair rose and unfortunately it was much too light for me. The doe foot applicator is large, larger than any I've used which I assume its meant to be for more coverage. I found this really hard to work with, it dries super fast and didn't blend very well at all.  Loreal Infalliable Concealer £5.99 This is another full coverage concealer with a large doe foot applicator, matte finish and easy to blend.I chose the shade 320 porcelain, unfortunately t

Favourite Skin Products

Hi Everyone! I have just demolished half a packet of caramel biscuits (using the excuse that I'm 37 weeks pregnant) and feeling sick. Anyway thought I'd do an update of my favourite skin products at the moment. I'd say I am very lucky with my skin although I do think I like to take care of it, always take my make off, moisturise etc etc and drink lots of water only really because I'm always thirsty but apparently it does help with the ole skin as well, so, result. I was blessed not to have acne or anything like that growing up. However, pregnancy has changed ALL of that. My skin has felt dry, spotty, suffered from redness and generally just not been very happy. So I've bought some different products and been trying things that I haven't really ever used before. First product was actually a free sample that I got with a magazine I think? Its the Caudalie anti ageing glow activating serum £36.00 for 30ml says its full to the brim of antioxidants and is jus
