Out with the old....

So, the festive season is over, your probably back to the same ole routine, and planning to 'get to' your resolutions at some point.... right?

No, me either! However, one resolution that we should ALL be sticking to is getting rid of all our broken, lids missing, cracked tubs and expired bottles of make up and beauty products!

I am sad but I actually enjoy doing this, its therapeutic in a strange way, not to mention the fun you have when you get to buy the new stuff! I usually get a space somewhere in the house and organise everything into piles, makeup, skin etc. Then foundations, eyeshadows you get the idea. Then i decide whats to be thrown away, this can hurt a little bit I'm not going to lie...

Not only are you throwing out things that are out of date they may well be out of trend and we cannot have that ladies. There's no better time than new year to get rid of things and start afresh with all the fabulousness that's just around the corner.

So from that mascara that never did deliver those 'falsh lashes in a bottle' to the that gunky creamy thing that used to be an eyeshadow.. heres my top list of things to revamp for 2013!

So, we all LOVE that must have lipstick in that perfect shade that we can't ever replace. But there's no lid? Sorry it has to go! Even if you swear you had it at that birthday party less than a month ago
and its still sitting in your favourite clutch, no lid = no lips.

A big trend we have recently seen was the perfect flawless skin finish. This season its all about au natural so lets fake it with bb creams, tinted moisturisers and the must have loose powder on top. (If you can that is)

If you have hair extensions, and they aren't in your head I do hope they are stored away properly. If they aren't time for them to go to. I've never been a fan myself although my hair is quite long. Hair trends for this year are shorter and textured so much easier to deal with. But if you really must have something longer other than your own their are always great clip in pieces available all over.

I love, love, love mascara. And I constantly buy the lastes ones. However, I never keep them longer than roughly the recommended 3 month period so get some newbies and throw the others away asap!

I also have a complete nail addiction, especially the nail stickers that where everywhere last year. If your a fan make sure to stock up so your never without. If a product doesn't smell or look like it did when you bought it, garbage! I've done this so many times with nail polishes, buy them, never wear them and then remember that shade go to get it and its slime :(. My shades always change with the season anyway so hopefully it won't be too long til brights are back!

If you have a lot of brushes, you should be cleaning them regularly anyway however theres nothing wrong with a treat in the sales :). Ensure your tweezers are ship shape also as we can't have unruly brows.

And once you've managed through all of that trauma (WELL DONE!!) its the best part NEW GOODIES!! Enjoy :)
