Mascara tips and tricks..

So you've tried all the best mascara's they have promised you the world, but have they delivered? If you've given up and have had every new one out there, try these tips to help...

1. Soy Protein - helps build volume and strengthen lashes (Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara), (ELF Studio Mascara Primer), (Dior Show Maximiser Serum)

2. Panthenol, Pantethine, and Pro Vitamin B-5 - These conditioners aim to make lashes stronger and longer (Marks & Spencer Perfection Precision Mascara), (MAC mascara X), (NYX Propel My Eyes Mascara)

3. To create the illusion of thicker lashes, apply eyeliner to the upper inner rim of the eye. Use a pointed eyeliner brush with a matt eyeliner/dark eyeshadow to apply liner as close to the lash line as possible.

4. Curl your lashes before application of mascara, let them dry, then again until you are lash liscious!

5. (a) Finding the right wand is imperative for getting the best results. I find that the smaller wands with lots of teeth bound close together help to reach the lash roots, and can extend the hair as much as possible. This, in turn, will lengthen and separate lashes.

(b) A bigger fluffy wand is best for creating voluptuous lashes. The bendable, pliable teeth hug the lash curves and allow many coats to be applied on top of each other.

6. Using two mascara's, which offer different things can have a great effect as well.

7. To make top lashes look longer push outer lashes towards the temples, the middle ones up towards the brows, and the inner lashes to the nose. Apply the same technique to lower lashes with the centre lashes pointed straight down towards the jaw.

8. Never use a dried out mascara, in fact, bin them if they have dried out, they are no use to anyone :)

9. Try to replace your mascara every three months.

10. Falsh lashes are the best way to get big, full lashes. They can be tricky though. A good idea is to put the individual lashes and practice with them, going inwards with the largest ones at the end. Also, if you do buy full lashes, try trimming them to fit.

Stay gorgeous! x
